This was a very lovely inn. Bob, the owner, assisted us in securing a great dinner reservation for our 25th Anniversary! He was very helpful and discovered that we had a flat tire the morning after we arrived. Bob reassured us that a mechanic was around the corner and it was fixed very quickly! He did a lot to allay our fears. The bed and breakfast was beautiful. The breakfast was very large and satisfying. (No wimpy fruit and granola here!). The thing that made the trip memorable was the conversations between Bob and the other guests. Everyone was happy, rested and relaxed which made for great conversation. I would recommend this inn to anyone who would enjoy a relaxing vacation within a short walk of Downtown Bar Harbor!

This was a really lovely inn. I booked this right off of a bed and breakfast website strictly based on price (it was one of the least expensive in the area) and was very pleased with my decision. Actually, we booked Anne's White Columns Inn for one night and had to cancel the reservations and re-book another night, which thankfully, they had available and were very accommodating to our situation. The staff was very friendly, including Anne herself. She is also a great cook; the apple French toast was totally terrific and we had a lot of food for breakfast! Besides breakfast, Anne also offered wine and cheese at 5 on the inn's outdoor porch, which we regrettably missed. The inn was very charming and extremely clean. The rooms were named instead of numbered and I thought that was very cute. We stayed in Ban-y-Byrn, which had sunny yellow and white striped wallpaper and a lush red comforter on the bed. This inn is a reasonable price for Bar Harbor, located within walking distance of the downtown, and is simply a fabulous choice for a trip to Downeast Maine.

Really loved this inn. My husband and I stayed here for our first night in Bar Harbor for our honeymoon. I emailed the day before when I realized all the highly recommended B&B's were getting booked and fast and they held our room right away! We were greeted to wine and cheese when we arrived right before 7pm and stayed in the Keewayden room. It had it own balcony and what a great sleep!! The pillows, blankets and bed were sooo fluffy! Cathy greeted us when we arrived and Bob (the owner) greeted us for a delicious breakfast which his wife, Ann, made and info and tips on Acadia Park! We were staying at the Saltair Inn the following evening and all the B&B's seem to know each other and say nothing but wonderful things about each other. Only thing is that if you are traveling at night and looking for the place, the GPS went a little wonky looking for it. It is on Mt Desert St but don't look for "Ann's White Column Inn" the sign is actually "White Column Inn" from the street so you may drive past it several times if you were looking for "Ann." Really great place and friendly people!

I can't say enough great things about this place. It's an easy walk into downtown. The innkeeper made great recommendations on everything from restaurants to things to do. They have a wine and cheese appetizer in the afternoon where you have the opportunity to mingle with the other guests. The breakfast was outstanding every morning. When I go back to Bar Harbor, I will definitely be staying here again.

Loved everything. Bob the proprietor was knowledgeable helpful and very friendly. Not to mention a great pianest. Andy, the helper, was also very nice and efficient. The room, ambience, location, food, drink, and price were perfect. Would stay again in a heartbeat.

The location of this place is pretty solid. It's just a short walk to town. Don't expect updated decor or any modern amenities, but it was clean and a lovely place to stay. I guess the price is on par with everything else nearby, but I'm not sure I'd stay again. Did like the breakfast, though.

Great place to stay in Bar Harbor. We staying one night on a quick trip to the area and wanted a clean reasonable place to stay that was within walking distance of downtown. It exceeded our expectations. Our room was clean and well decorated. We appreciated the afternoon wine and cheese session and the great advice of the inn keeper on good restaurants. Good parking area for your car available. Our breakfast included a fresh pear with raspberries and yogurt, then a tasty egg and cheese casserole with cranberry bread. Orange juice and coffee also was great. Highly recommended. Eat at Poor Boys Gourmet Restaurant!
